Outdoor Activities to Enjoy in Arizona:

Arizona is one of the best vacation destinations in the United States, possibly even the world, and for good reason. This state is known all over as the place to go for relaxation and retirement. The natural beauty and scenery, coupled with the climate and temperatures, mean that visitors visit this state frequently. Yet the state still remains wide open, with large expanses of desert, Native American populations to explore and discovery, and many naturally made attractions which inspire awe or are breathtaking. There are so many things to see and do outdoors in all four seasons that it is no wonder so many people visit or move here every year.

Outdoor activities in Arizona can include golfing, and almost every city in the state has several golf courses, many of them world renowned. Horseback riding is another popular pastime, and skiing, both in the snow and in the water make for fun any time of the year. There are miles of mountain bike trails that wind through the state, and acres of forests, mountains, and other terrain to make mountain biking fun and exciting. Salt River tubing is a great way to enjoy the hot days and cool off, while exploring the natural beauty of the Salt River. One of the most popular outdoor activities is hiking, and with a whole state that is set with exquisite scenery, gorgeous and colorful sunsets, and natural monuments created by Mother Nature, it is no wonder that Arizona is one of the most popular places to come.

Places To Explore In Arizona

Arizona is known for the moderate climates and dry heat through most of the state, but there are mountains and snow as well in areas. Hiking is so popular in the state because there is so much to see and explore. The Red Rock formations near Sedona, Arizona, offer formations of red rock which were naturally created over hundreds of years, and are famous for their beauty. The Grand Canyon is another fabulous place to hike, because the gorge is perfect for a one day hike or a one week hike. Imagine spending a week hiking and riding mules through areas in the Grand Canyon. It is also possible to take a helicopter tour over this area, so that the beauty and the scope of the Grand Canyon can be seen from the air. Spend a day at Slide Rock State Park in Oak Creek Canyon, where there is a water slide made from the natural rock and water formations, and clear fresh water is pooled to swim in. There are many other places just like this, where visitors can enjoy the natural paradise that the west has to offer. Hike to the bottom of Montezuma's well, or just take a hike through one of the many lush forests. Enjoy the Painted Desert , or waterfalls and rafting. Another favorite outdoor activity is just laying in the sun relaxing, and in Arizona relaxing is so easy to do it makes the state the perfect vacation destination.
