Canyon de Chelly National Monument

Take a guided tour deep into this canyon full of history and Indian Ruins high in the cliffs. You can use your own 4-wheel drive vehicle with a Native American guide, but be prepared for deep sand and/or water. Spring and Fall are great times to visit.

Prehistoric farmers once inhabitated this area. This Monument is the ruins of their village. There is not much to see here, but if your in the area it is an interesting stop. Summer temps will be well over 100 degrees here.

Chiricahua National Monument

This forest of rock spires was eroded from layers of ash deposited by the Turkey Creek Volcano eruption 27 million years ago. This monument includes a paved scenic drive, hiking trails and variety of wildlife.

Fort Bowie National Historic Site

Fort Bowie is a monument remembering the conflict between the Chiricahua Apaches and the United States Military. For 30 years military operations were conducted out of this fort. These operations culminated in the surrender of Geronimo in 1886.
