If you want to take a thrilling look at Grand Canyon, why don’t you do it from the Grand Canyon Skywalk? And with the glass floor of the West Glass Bridge, you will feel like you’re flying over the famous canyon. This is one vacation stop you shouldn’t miss!
How to get to the Grand Canyon Skywalk
The Grand Canyon Skywalk is located on the western side of the canyon at the Hualapai Indian Reservation. If you drive from Las Vegas, which is around 120 miles away, it will take you around 3 hours to get there. From Flagstaff, it will take you four, and from Phoenix at 253 miles away, around five to six hours. The road to the skywalk is largely unpaved so you may want to consider a tour shuttle.
Things To Do at the Canyon
The uniqueattraction recently opened last March 28, 2007. The daring bridge hanging 70-feet from the canyon rim out onto the air is an adventure in itself. There is no other reason to visit the Skywalkthan to walk on the glass bridge and look down at the expanse beneath you. Take note though that a maximum of only 120 people at a time will be allowed on the bridge. You will also be provided with shoe covers to prevent scratching the glass bridge. However, since it is located at the West Rim of the canyon, there are also several activities you can engage in like cowboy cookouts, horseback riding, and white water rafting.
