Grand Canyon South Rim

Grand Canyon Havasu Falls"The wonders of the Grand Canyon cannot be adequately represented in symbols of speech, nor by speech itself. The resources of the graphic art are taxed beyond their powers in attempting to portray its features. Language and illustration combined must fail."  John Wesley Powell

With its magnificent shades of colors, gorgeous waterfalls and a unique beauty that extends as far as the eye can see, its no wonder that  the Grand Canyon is famous world wide, and a top Arizona Attraction.

Grand Canyon South Rim - Your First Stop at the Grand Canyon National Park:

If you want to properly plan your visit to the majestic Grand Canyon, you should make the South Rim your first stop. Here, you can find the National Geographic Visitor Center that offers comprehensive information about accommodation, dining, sightseeing, great outdoor activities and much more.

Things To Do at the South Rim:

There are so many activities that you can do while at Grand Canyon South Rim. Depending on the weather, your interests, and your available time, you can enjoy 2-hour free shuttle bus ride to see the spectacular views of Hopi, Pima Points, and Mohave. You can also use your own vehicle to reach Desert View Drive and get amazing views of river from Lipan Point, Moran Point, and Desert View. If you love hiking, you can enjoy the day hike at Rim Trail together with your friends or family members. In addition, you can also join the exciting Grand Canyon Field institute learning adventure, interpretative and junior ranger programs.

Guided Grand Canyon Tours:

Your vacation will not be complete without guided tours. A tour with a local expert can add so much to your vacation in a short amount of time. At the Grand Canyon South Rim, you can take advantage of all sorts of tours depending on your budget, interests, and available time. To get the most out of your trip, I recommend South Rim Air Tours that are offered daily. Helicopter tours are a great way to get up close and personal with the canyon, but these can be a bit pricey. If you are running low on budget, you can opt to participate on bus tours, guided hike, and horse rides. For the most avid adventurer,  white water raft trips are available.

Located in Northern Arizona, The Grand Canyon became a National Park in 1919. The canyon was formed over millions of years by the erosion of the Colorado River. At 277 miles long, almost 18 miles wide at some points, and a mile deep, you can see why the canyon is so spectacular!
