Slide Rock State Park

Be adventurous and take a ride down the natural slide Oak Creek forms at Slide Rock. For those not so adventurous, wade along the creek bed, enjoy the wildlife while taking a nature hike and having a picnic, or try your luck with a fishing pole. They also have a volleyball court. There were quite a few movies made here. Among them were Broken Arrow, Drum Beat, Gun Fury and Angel and the Bad Man.

Tombstone Courthouse State Park

Built in 1882, the building housed the sheriff, recorder, treasurer and board of supervisors. The jail was under the courtroom. The park has restrooms, a picnic area and is handicapped accessible.

Tonto Natural Bridge is believed to be the largest natural travertine bridge in the world. It is located off State Route 87, 10 miles north of Payson.

Tubac Presidio established by the Jesuit, Eusebio Francisco Kino, in 1691.The park includes a museum, archaeology display and picnic area.

White Tank Mountain Regional Park

This 30,000 acre park in the White Tank Mountains west of Phoenix is a great place to bring the family. Enjoy miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking. View ancient Indian Art (petroglyphs) on the boulders and cliffs. A scenic waterfall cascades down if there has been any recent rain.

Yuma Crossing State Historic Park

This was the site of the Yuma Quartermaster Depot. It was used by the US Army to store and distribute supplies for all the military posts in Arizona, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico and Texas. The site has a visitor center, museum, gift shop and restrooms.

Yuma Territorial Prison State Park

Opened in 1876 the prison remained in operation for 33 years. Step back in time as you explore the cells and museum. You'll wonder how anyone survived the scorching summers in these cells with no way to cool themselves.
